Kane is Bear Clan of Algonquin/French descent from the Antoine First Nation, descendants of the historic Matawasi`bi ani`cena`bi (Mouth-of-the-River People). His Native name is Kiwedin-nimbi (Northern Thunder) Kane has spent his life promoting mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. He applies Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Brief-Solution Focused Therapy, Mediation, Client-Centered Psychotherapy, Traditional Native Modalities, Narrative, and Family Systems therapy - all from a multicultural framework. Kane is skilled in assessments and treatment for individuals, couples, and groups across the lifespan. He has a Master's in Counselling Psychology (MACP) and is a certified mediator. Kane is known for his motivational style, his compassionate spirit, his ability to unpack problems that seem overwhelming, He is the proud parent of three, two who were adopted from foster care. Kane specializes in Indigenous wellbeing. He is a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
