About

I have spent the last ten years working as a counsellor in the areas of sexual health, sexual assault/trauma, breastfeeding and new parent support. I have a Master’s in Counselling Psychology & Psychotherapy from the University of Toronto as well as specialized training in trauma therapy and perinatal mental health. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO and a member of the OACCPP. As a psychotherapist, I work from a client-centred perspective. This means that I recognize that you are the expert, and I work to help you make meaning out of your own experiences and, like a compass, help you to discover your best path forward. I incorporate acceptance-commitment therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and internal family systems approaches to help you reach your goals. My background in feminist counselling and social justice work means that our sessions will consider how your own experiences and behaviour are influenced by the social systems that you exist in and how to address social barriers in order for you to thrive in your environment.
