My ideal client has difficulty coping, and feels emotionally overloaded; but they are also ready for a change. Your distress can create anxiety and depression that results in negative thoughts, which influence your behavior and emotions. Avoiding unpleasant emotions can cause harm and inappropriate reactive behaviors. I offer emotional and psychological support for a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, grief counselling, relationship issues, and self awareness, Through counselling we can focus on your needs and set goals that will ultimately give you tools to cope with life on life's terms. I hold a B.A. Psychology, and I'm trained in CBT, which is goal oriented for problem solving; MBCT, which incorporates meditation and is "present" oriented, and EFT and EFT for Couples, which is based in the belief that we construct ourselves through our emotions. I am also Palliative Care trained, and support end-of-life clients and their caregivers; including dementia issues. Rather than looking at people as flawed, I see people who want growth and change, and are motivated to move forward.
