Shay Beck is a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She graduate with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Shay specializes in child and youth counselling, and seeks to provide a collaborative therapeutic approach with children and their families. Shay has dedicated her psychotherapeutic practice to the treatment of children and youth, with a special interest in developmental trauma and disorders. She believes in holistic care, treating the client as a unique individual with their own physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual experiences and expressions. Client-centered care, with an emphasis on the client/therapist collaboration, is key to her practice. Shay utilizes a range of therapeutic approaches to best suit a client's individual needs. Shay's therapeutic modalities include: Cognitive Behavioural Therapies such as: Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (MCBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ACT), as well as Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Play Therapy and Schema Therapies.
