With a Master’s of Child Life and Pediatric Psychosocial Care and over 6 years of experience in grief and bereavement, hospice, and hospital settings, Nicky is passionate about supporting children, teens, and young adults through life's challenges, transitions, and loss. Nicky understands how major life events impact not only the individual, but the whole family system. Nicky believes the foundation for any good counselling is the connection between the client and the counsellor. Nicky aims to understand the unique child, teen, or young adult coming to therapy and build a trusting and supportive relationship to help them feel safe processing their life experiences. Nicky hopes to help children, teens, and young adults bolster their coping in the face of adversity and to build resilience. When working with children and teens, Nicky's utilizes creative mediums such as play, art, and music, to help them explore and process stressors in their lives in a way that feels safe and comfortable for them. She champions a family-centered and strengths-based approach to counseling, collaborating closely with families to meet the unique needs of each child.
