For the past 18 years, Désirée has worked as a psychotherapist and clinical supervisor. Her primary focus has been on clinical excellence in an effort to elevate clinicians and their therapeutic competency. As a psychotherapist, she has facilitated therapy in group settings, in person, telephonic, and virtual. Désirée's experiences have included; long term care settings, as a therapist and clinical trainer for an international Employee Assistance Program, Counselling Manager for a national children's helpline, and as a Clinical Services Supervisor at a lead child and youth mental health agency. Désirée specializes in, adult mental health, mindfulness-based approaches, single session therapy, CBT, solution focused brief therapy, and crisis intervention. She believes deeply in critical SEUS in order to engage those she supervises as well as those she is working with in therapy. Currently, Désirée is leading a clinical team to develop an upcoming provincial virtual walk-in clinic through Toronto's lead mental health agency for child and youth mental health. Her passion is developing a clinicians gifts to better support clients and to realise their natural abilities as therapists.
