I have been providing psychotherapy since 2000, working at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health for 14 years. My skills have been recognized through being a recipient of the Edward W.H. Tremain Memorial Award of Excellence in 2013. I have provided trainings to therapists, counsellors and health professionals in the areas of Mental Health and Addiction, Concurrent Trauma and Addiction and Harm Reduction. I am passionate about my work and continuously update my skills through professional training and development. The therapeutic relationship is a critical factor in the therapy process. I strive to create a safe place to explore the inner world of thoughts, emotions and needs; a place where people are respected, heard and validated. My focus is to develop self-compassion by making connections between past and present and by finding balance between acceptance and change. With mindfulness and an understanding of the body's natural stress responses, one can learn to manage difficult emotions. By creating new meanings from experiences and by accepting and allowing emotions we can listen and address our inner needs. Please call or email today.
