Elizabeth James is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She holds a Masters degree in Clinical Counselling and has specialized training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy and Trauma-informed approaches. Elizabeth has experience working with a wide range of challenges including grief and loss, mood and anxiety disorders (with a special focus on postpartum depression), trauma, everyday stress, parenting struggles, life transitions and concerns related to self-worth. She also considers herself a relationship specialist. Her training was in marriage and family therapy and she has completed additional training in Emotionally Focused Therapy—the gold standard for helping couples decrease distress and create deep, long-lasting bonds. She has extensive experience helping couples navigate through conflict, emotional disconnection and infidelity.
