Empowering Mental Health Professionals to Address Addiction in Family Therapy

Workshop Description

During the pandemic, front line providers reported an increase in addiction-related behaviours within families. This has led to an increase in the demands for mental health support.

This workshop provides an invaluable opportunity to deepen your understanding of addiction and improve your skills in working with families. The facilitator brings a wealth of experience and expertise in addiction treatment, with a holistic approach that addresses the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of addiction.

Through mini breakout exercises and group discussions, you'll practice skills related to addiction in family therapy and engage with peers who may be facing similar challenges. You'll learn how to identify and address codependency in family dynamics, recognize the signs of different types of addiction, and gain practical tools and case studies that you can use in your work with clients.

You'll learn from a skilled and knowledgeable facilitator who is trained in evidence-based therapies like cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care. Plus, you'll be part of a supportive community of mental health professionals who share your passion for helping families affected by addiction.
