About

I received my Bachelors degree in psychology from York University in Toronto, and my Masters degree in psychology from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Following that, I have gained more than 20 years' experience in various clinical roles. My training includes neuropsychological rehabilitation at New York University Medical Center, followed by experience in children's mental health centres in Canada and the US, conducting individual therapy with children and their families. I am currently the Southern Ontario Regional Coordinator-Counsellor of an Employee Assistance Program for a federal law enforcement agency, providing counselling, training and advisory services to approximately 900 employees and their families. I regularly take a diverse range of continuing education courses, with a recent emphasis on trauma-related issues. I am certified in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Group and Individual Debriefings, and as a trainer for CISM Group Debriefings and the Mental Health First Aid Canada course. In addition to my day job, I was in part-time private practice for more than 10 years, and was on the faculty of Humber College in Toronto for 7 years.
