About
Jacie specializes in the treatment of pre-teens, adolescents, and adults who have experienced trauma and continue to live with the residual effects. She also supports clients who experience a variety of needs including anxiety, depression, anger, and eating disorders, as well as those who are seeking therapy during times of heightened stress or to promote personal growth. She provides an eclectic-style of psychotherapy from a trauma-focused perspective incorporating theory from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Structural Dissociation Theory. Further, Jacie is trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an integrative psychotherapy treatment which is effective at alleviating anxiety and post-traumatic symptoms associated with traumatic experiences (i.e. car accidents, physical/sexual abuse, unresolved grief, natural disasters, etc). For more information regarding EMDR therapy, please visit the EMDR International Association’s website (https://emdria.site-ym.com/page/emdr_therapy). Jacie is registered as a Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and has been practicing since 2012.
