Therapy can seem intimidating, but it is an important step toward better mental health. It takes strength, courage and commitment to acknowledge that there are parts of yourself and your life that you would like to change. These may include concerns about self-confidence, coping with stress and building healthy relationships. I can help you gain a greater understanding of yourself, your past experiences and present contexts. Together, we can examine how you developed behaviours that were useful in the past but are not anymore, and which ones would be helpful now. I work with clients in a way that is authentic, collaborative and strengths-based. Although therapy can be difficult, I find one of the ways to make it more comfortable is to know that it’s okay to laugh and find humour in it. I use creativity to adapt therapies to suit your needs and flexibility in trying strategies until we find the ones that work for you. With the right tools in therapy, it is possible to feel empowered, resilient and develop supportive relationships. These will give you a sense of balance, allow you to use your time and energy for what matters to you and feel excited about future possibilities.
